my forum search says no Wink

but try this ... get the Garmin 343 beta zip here vivoactive 3 software version 3.43 Beta

    read and understand the instructions

but most important read the README.txt file inside the zip !!!

that is how you downgrade to 340

where do you want to go from here ?

    happy & safe dowgrading

I was tempted to do similar. Garmin appear to publish updates/releases for all their products on a single URL so it's a case of changing the id to find the relevant VA3 update - question is, what is the most recent stable version?

A concern is that having downgraded the latest and not so necessarily greatest update with automatically be applied?

  • I have tried to push this update to the watch and all it does is reboot and delete the GUPDATE.GCD, does not seem possible to downgrade so we are still stick with an expensive paperweight.

I may hve found a solution to the heart rate stopping, so far I have had no stops and its been 18 hrs, here is what I did,

Go into watch Settings/ USB mode / set to mass storage.

Connect watch to a windows computer, Linux wont work I tried it,

Open my computer or the file browser on windows 10

Right click on the Garmin drive showing its about 8 Mb and select format, untick the fast format (this is important ) and the format the drive, make sure fat 16 is selected, the computer will then format the drive this will take about ten mins.

Disconnect the watch from computer once format is complete, then go back into settings/ system and select restore defaults, this will restore all the folders and Garmin stuff deleted by the format,

then set up watch as new, dont forget to remove watch from Garmin connect before re-pairing,

test and see if issue is solved !

Strange thing is although the watch showed no heart rate the Garmin connect app shows no break in monitoring ! I will monitor this more and return with updates asap

did you use the special 3.40 GCD file ?

    happy & safe sporting

  • Hi OnlyTwo, Yes I tried both of the files including modifying the file name as per the instructions. The garmin sensor update seems to have resolved the HR cut out for now.
