Run walk run timer during an activity?

I'm doing a Jeff Galloway training programme on my V3 and each week there is one run which the instructions are "run walk run at a setting that suits you". Problem is even though I have run walk run alerts set up they don't seem to work if you are doing an activity. I hate having to keep looking at my watch whilst running. Does anyone know if it is possible to get these alerts to work whilst doing an activity?

Make sure you have enabled the alert after you create it. I have used the Run Walk alerts on my V3 without issue.

I have exactly the same issue as the author. I'm absolutely sure that my alert is enabled. In fact, I checked it works if I start "normal run", but... if I start workout which is part of the above mentioned training plan, such alert is not working.

It's quite silly that this feature is not working when you're doing specifically Run Walk Run activity.

I've also found the scheduled work outs randomly don't count steps - that was particularly annoying the day I ran 7.5km and not a single step was recorded.

It's exactly the same for me. Jeff Galloway in videos being part of this plan even advertises that "your Garmin watch will tell you when to walk and when to run". Well, I guess he is not aware that it doesn't work that way with his program :D

This bothered me so much that I wrote a custom data field that specifically works with the training plan. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think.
