support for newer Plantronics Backbeat Fits (2100/3100)

I just acquired a Backbeat Fit 2100 and while it will pair with my Vivoactive 3 Music, the V3M hangs on "connecting to BBFIT" and then ultimately fails. I've talked to support and tried everything (including a full reset) but support says there's nothing they can do because it's not on the list of supported devices. The original Backbeat Fit IS on the supported list, but that was discontinued a year ago. Anyone else having this problem? Any hope of the supported headphone list being updated?
  • At the CIQ summit the Backbeat Fit 3100 was part of the attendee welcome packet. They paired right up to the F5+ and have been working fine. I just paired them to my VA3M and played some music. It is working fine. Not sure why the BBF2100 is having problems with your watch.

Have you installed the latest BB app on you phone and updated the FW? That was the first thing I did with my headset. The 2100 and 3100 use the same app on the phone to update FW and it was the first thing I was prompted to do once I installed the phone app.

Talking to Garmin support, they claim that the 3100 works properly, so I'm not surprised. And yes, I've tried to update firmware on the headset--claimed it didn't need updating. My new plan is just to return the 2100 and upgrade to the 3100 myself :)

    Thanks for the reply!
  • That is not necessarily a bad plan. I have the previous generation BB Fit which is similar to the 2100 and I overall, I am quite impressed with the 3100. The audio is good, pretty good battery life.
  • Plantronics 2100 work very fine, but Garmin V3M is the problem, volume control not work with Garmin V3M, gramin support not answer.

I've just spent 1+ hours trying to sync the new V4S with the 2100 and it's not working. Does anyone have any ideas here? Do I really need the Plantronics 3100?! Woof.

  • Work very fine garmin update V3M.
