Hi. So i got my first garmin last week. Was very excited. But came across a problem with calories count way too high. I have been looking about forum and haven't found an answer yet. Any clue how to fix this? It says today j burned 1500 calories from activity. I only walked dog for 5k. All together 20k steps. No exercising. And over 3k burned. With samsung werable i was getting about 18-2
  • Eikalipse I think Garmin gives over estimates for walking - did your dog walk create an activity with calories attached that you can see? I have a tracked 3K walk that was a gentle stroll and its given me 650 calories and yet I have a 10K easy run that's only given me 730 calories (that is with a Fenix 5+ but I assume the algorithms are same/similar)
  • I've had my VA3M for about 2 weeks now and I've only encountered an issue like this once. Try powering the watch off then turn it back on and see if that helps. My issue was the watch seemed to be partially frozen at night when I wasn't wearing it and said I had burned over 1000 calories. I turned it off and then back on and it has been fine since. Apologies if you've already tired this and it hasn't helped

My walk of 1h 6 min shows 303 cal burned for 4k. So that is about right. For a week 24k walked 1689 cal burned. I saw somewhere to disable MFP step counting and put activity to low. Today sofar 9640 steps and 364 active calories. Oh, i put heart rate levels ( or what you call that) up abit too. Saw that in other post. Yesterday was 1550 active cal per 20k steps.
