can the vivoactive 3 music broadcast HR via bluetooth?

I want to use it for Zwift (yes i know a strap is more accurate) but its not recognized, kind of suprising as my old cheap Fuse can do it no problem. i use an ipad so ant+ is not an option.
thanks!
  • It can only broadcast with ANT.
  • I use a Wahoo TickrX HRM it works on BLE (Bluetooth) and ANT.
Connect perfectly with the VA3M and have the added bonus of the cadence while cycling (also shown and recorded by the watch) on the VA3M, the tickr connect as and external HRM and???? as a cadence sensor!
Brilliant hardware. Their app is not great, but I am not using it since I use Garmin Connect.

How does it work as a cadence sensor? I assume it says it is, but doesn't actually track your cadence properly. If it does - I'll go and buy one today!! :)

EDIT: So I went and got one after some googling!! It connects to the VA3M with the heart rate as ant+ and the cadence sensor as bluetooth fine .. but I couldn't get it to show my cadence (even though the indoor bike activity showed that it connected to the cadence sensor fine) - any tips?? I'll try another ride tomorrow and see if it works. I'm hoping its not one of those things where it has to use the Wahoo Fitness app to do it
  • It has to be in cycling mode.
  • Ok can anyone recommend a smart watch that can broadcast HR via Bluetooth?
  • The word "broadcast" is throwing me a bit here.

If you are asking if the VA3M can use BT to communicate with with an external HR monitor, the answer is yes.
I use a Polar external monitor and it works perfectly via BT.
    Hope that helps!

i dont want to tether or use a chest strap, just the watch with its wrist based HR monitor broadcasting via Bluetooth straight to my ipad. My Cheapo Mio Fuse can do it but its a watch for everything else.

    thanks
