Sleep tracking inaccurate

I'm not posting this to complain. Just hoping it will make features better. I just got the vivoactive 3 music.

I noticed some parts of sleep tracking are incorrect. The device or software does not actually know the difference between light sleep and awake. I think this area needs more fine-tuning. I generally wake up frequently during the night, but this says I'm in light sleep during those times, even when I'm moving around. It only shows me awake when I actually get out of bed in the morning. Hopefully this can be worked on more in the future. The sleep feature is not a reason I bought the watch, but it is interesting to me.

Are you sure that you are awake, and not in a state of sleep so light that you are at least partly conscious? Sleep in not a binary status...

My previous watch was a Polar M400. Did a much better job of sleep tracking. If I went to bed and would read for an hour it wouldn't include that as sleep. The Garmin seems to significantly overestimate hours of sleep.

This is still really poor on Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music. It always changes the initial data during the day and most of the times it changes it from pretty accurate to poorly accurate. Deep sleep is the hardest one for Garmin and it almost every day changes it a lot from for example 1 hour to 20min and it is constant that it does it.

Really annoying and the data it gives is pretty useless since it is changing all the time and no way to know if you can trust it. Garmin should really try to improve this feature!

I have the same problem.  Up 3 or 4 times in the night and will often come to the kitchen etc yet in the morning its say I was awake for only 4 mins   I am so disappointed with this watch,   doesnt sync many times,  doesnt count step properly, if you swing your arms it counts it as steps, etc etc     would never recommend anyone purchase this.  As a matter of fact I bought one for my grand daughter but not Garmin.

It really needs, to be fixed. A company like garmin should be concerned that their product is so Inaccurate. They would literally be better off removing the feature imom

I know for sure I was awake around 3:30 this morning for about 30 minutes after I got up to use the restroom. It said I was awake for 4 minutes. This is ridiculous. Fitbit does a much better job on this.

I have the same issue, except my issue actually occurs when I’m awake and just laying around watching a movie. My watch things that I’m asleep so I will have random inaccurate sleep data that I can’t delete from when I’m actually awake.

  • I have same issue recording me awake when I’m definitely asleep. It’s saying I’m only asleep for an hour frequently. Since the hacking business the watch is poor I’m thinking of going to Apple
