vivoactive3: can you force run start while waiting for gps?

if I don't want to have indoor modes and such saved on the watch, is there a way like the original vivoactive to just force the run to start while it's waiting for gps (and just give up the gps ability?)

can't seem to find an answer to that or make it happen on the watch, no button presses or touches will do it
  • Why not just use the indoor version of an activity? Like Treadmill or Indoor Track?

I wouldn't use one with GPS, as you may get a fix later and it will mess up your distance, etc, as that will be used if available.
  • and drain your battery needlessly.
  • For runs & walks, at least, if you just press the button before GPS is locked on, it will start the activity without GPS. (Although if it locks on later, I think it will start recording location data - but don't quote me on that.) You can also press the settings button and disable GPS, but that sticks for future activities, which may not be what you want.
