I just noticed that the link doesn't work anymore, probably because it was made months ago with the old forum software. Unfortunately I cannot find that post in the new forum.
Anyway the bottom line was that Garmin Connect sometimes re-evaluates sleep data after more data becomes available later in the day, and this can lead to changes in fall-asleep and wake-up times, as well as corrections to sleep phases.
This is Garmin, why doesn’t f.ex fitbit have the same problem. When you have to tell your watch what time you go to sleep, and what time you wake up, it’s already a problem. And i know my body so well that i feel the differen on 2-6 minutes awake (2 times go pi) and theyr redicilous sometimes 2-3 hour awake. The whole sleep tracking is in my opinion near useless.
I do experience the same.
The link below suggest that with the latest technology, data are processed a second time in a cloud base neural network after beeing pre-processed in the wearable
Whatever it is, Garmin should display which state my sleep data is in so I know I have to check it later.
Yeah and it process good stuff into crap. At least for VA4
What the heck is going on?
Following screenshots show the stats for the same, today's sleep - some time after waking up, just after first sync with connect, almost and around 1h later. First one was quite accurate if it comes about falling asleep and waking up times - second not even close.
Why? Garmin! Why?
P.s. sw version 3.80
