I agree that this is my biggest problem with the VA3, but I don't think increasing the time to touch the screen is a good solution. I find the most likely scenario to cause settings to change for me is water on the screen (wearing the watch in the shower), and that can easily stay on for a while without you realising. I think a better solution would be to either allow setting to be locked with some method that requires the physical push button to unlock... or simply require that all the time... so to enter settings you press screen and then a message on screen comes up saying "Press button to enter settings" and that disappears by itself after 3 seconds (so the normal time comes back up)
That's a good idea! Anything is better then the current setup. I can say my number one complaint with this device. Another option is to move the settings menu to the long button press menu as an icon. In any case, its good to see Garmin listening to their customers.
