Adding a Custom Activity

Siggei I have posted another way to add a new activity profile:

• Press and hold touchscreen to access menu
  
• Select Settings
  
• Select Activities & Apps
  
• Select Add
  
• Select Create
  
• Select Pool Swim (For this example, or Other if you are looking for a custom profile)
  
• Choose name (i.e. Train, Pool Swim(2), etc.)
  
• Configure Settings (data screens, pool size, etc.)
  
• Select Done

Garmin-Kara, thanks for the answer. I remember I made the same steps to create the duplicate of run app. but now, the "CREATE" function is not available anymore. I don't know if it is due to updates.

- Select Create --> there is not this options.
There are displayed several sports (ie: tap roulant, indoor walk, eliptic, snowboard, skiing, etc etc) but there no Create button or similar.

Now I take a look to the support page, but I'm a little upset: I had a VA HR before, and the software was really more robust than this.

How many custom activities have you created? If I remember correctly, my wife could only create 3. She had to delete 1 before she could create another. It's been awhile, so I may be mistaken.

you are right, thanks: I just created 2 custom apps more, I couldn't image it is the limit! I deleted one and "create" button is available again.

I just created a custom activity for basketball, but I can't rename the activity. Is there a way to use something other than "Custom"? It gave me a few naming options such as "Martial Arts" when I created the custom profile, but it doesn't appear to let you change the name to something specific that you want to use (like Basketball or Football).

All you are really doing is copying an activity, and then you can pick a name for it from a predefined list to identify it on your watch. You could copy walking and pick the name "walking the dog" if I recall. It allows for different settings (auto lap, auto pause, different data fields, etc) but still doesn't change the sport as shown on Garmin Connect or what's recorded.

You can only pick from the predefined list of names on the vivo devices. On things like the fr645 you can enter your own name for the activity.

Is the own name you can choose also dispayed in Garmin Connect?
