So I am having slight 2nd thoughts on this after reading the posts in here. Hoping I didnt make a mistake. 9n a side not can anyone recommend a good durable band?
  • Fear not - do it. On forums like this you'll generally see people coming to either ask for resolution for something, or to complain about something. (not calling anyone out; just saying that's the nature of forums like this, of ANY kind). So - whether or not you'll like it is really based on what you want out of if. Your specific usage and expectations. I've had mine for over a year really love it. I have about 10 yes TEN different bands I use with it, to mix things up. There are literally 100s of bands out on Amazon and the like, that you can use.

Bottom line - do it. You can hunt around here for bands:

    https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_3_4?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=20mm+quick+release+watch+band&sprefix=20mm%2Caps%2C602&crid=V7X5K3GERRTF
  • As Neil_Rosser has said you generally won't see people singing a device praises perhaps as they don't want to be seen as a shill or just because they have no reason too.
I got my VA3 the day it was available where I am and don't have any regrets (although I do see a Fenix in my future) and I have no problems recommending it as long as you are aware of it's limitation compared to what you want to use it for and where it fits into Garmins range of devices.
As for bands I was planning on buying a variety of bands for mine but over a year in I am still using the band included simply because it's durable and very comfortable.
  • I concur with the statement that gets made a lot on this board. Basically most people post on this site when they are trying to work out bugs (mostly SW related). I upgraded from the VAHR and haven't a regret! Although, I may have opted for the VA3M had I known it was right around the corner. I wouldn't use the music feature that much. But having that as an option would have been nice. I find with the last SW upgrade, for me, this device to be very stable and its performance decent for what I use it for.
