v5.50 update

Just updated and Galileo support not showing up also no mention of battery life improvement in the update.

****Update****
After doing a second synced to Garmin Express GPS was updated and now finally the GPS+Galileo showed up.

****Still****
I observed that the Bluetooth connection with the phone is Misbehaving (connect/disconnects) from time to time after updating to v5.50.
  • I understood your point, Jim.
What I want to say is that even that have happened to other models, this is not the usual way software upgrades are numbered. And Galileo support is an upgrade. So, it was more logic that the part related to this sofware had its numbers increased, not decreased.
And you have to agree that other gps functionalities didn't disapeared. But something (galileo) was included.
So, it was natural that this number increase!! Check Windows, Linux, Android, IOS and whatever versions, for example.
And my point of view is that Garmin software team is not so organized as it should! Just remember that VA3 FW that messed up all activities names.
The fact that other models are the same, doesn't mean that they are correct, and they are not following the best practices in software programing!

thing is firmware v5.40 and gps v4.40 apparently had Galileo support already.
but now its gone back to gps v2.30... logically should have just been v4.50.
  • Mine watch updated to 5.50 and regarding the GALILEO support, same thing happened for me like on 5.40. I entered to Run setting, selected GPS+GALILEO but then it disappeared and GPS-GALILEO isn't shown in settings anymore.

GPS was updated and it was showing 0.0.0 but after selecting GPS+GALILEO and starting activity it showed GPS v4.40.
