GPS version 0.00

This happens sometimes when the GPS firmware updates. Usually all it takes is a power off/on cycle and it will clear up. If not connect to Garmin Express and reinstall.

so u have gone outdoors and attempted a gps lock with no success?
cos 5.4 seems to have reduced the sensitivity of the gps, also takes longer to get a lock.
guess this is how they save / extend battery life as mentioned in the changelog.

I have this problem, at midnight yesterday, gps software was updated after i went for a walk. this morning, when i was planning to go for a run, i could not lock gps. NO gps, NO gps+glonass, NO gps+galilleo. Then I checked the software version... GPS version 0.00.
I connect my vivoactive 3 to my pc, garmin express, listed on the update list was gps ver 2.50. and firmware 5.90. I clicked install.
yhe firmware was updated to 5.90 apac, but the gps is still 0.00.
I then try to update using webupdate software... got "the update file is corrupted".
I just finished doing factory reset to my VA3. still, gps 0.00.

now, what should I do ?

Same here, bput powering itiof and on stuff "GPS SW was updated" or similar, and is now and version 2.50

I just had an update pushed to my VA3 through GCM on Feb 27 morning. After the update the SW version was still 5.90 but the GPS version was 0.00. Reading this thread I first checked to see if I got a GPS lock and indeed the watch worked fine even in my house. I then rebooted the watch and the GPS version now shows 2.50. It worked fine on my hike this afternoon.

It would be nice if Garmin posted in the associated forum for each device, what was updated / improved when they push a new code version to a device. This should be a standard part of the firmware release process. I notice Garmin-Kara posted an update when 5.90 was released a month ago including a change log. This release and all others should get a similar post / reply to that sticky topic.
