It looks like this problem has started to occur with the latest V5.40 firmware update. After some time the Altimeter in my watchface shows -40000 meter or something, and then if you zoom in with the Ambient Pressure IQ widget it shows an almost 0 reading for the Barometric Pressure. This can be solved by turning off the watch, and turning it on again. It may take a number of days or up to a week until this phenomenon happens again. The internal sensor is not defect since it operates perfectly, and a simple restart of the watch solves the problem as well. So my conclusion is that it must be some firmware mistake. Anyone else having the same problem?
