Staining on white VA3?

I got a VA3 in white/rose gold about 3 months ago. I'm pleased with its performance (have previously had a VA and then used a basic Forerunner for a while so I'm used to the Garmin interface) but the back of the case is gradually turning more and more yellow and it's creeping up round the side too. I've attached a photo to show what I mean.

I wear the watch daily and do maybe 6-8 runs or bike rides per week plus daily activity, but the watch gets washed separately whenever I have a shower. When I contacted Garmin I was advised that the staining "looks like sweat" and that I should try soaking it in water and scrubbing it with washing up liquid - have done both, but the problem is still there. I should say that I'm not especially sweaty - I've been running for years and haven't been training excessively above usual levels recently! I would also add that I don't wear fake tan at all (appreciate it looks a bit like that) and it goes without saying that I'm clean too ;-)

Has anyone else had this problem? I think it's really poor if a sports watch can't handle, well, sports but I don't want it to look gross. Am particularly annoyed as I paid extra for the rose gold colourway! ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1398619.jpg
