Garmin Pushing Notifications to VA3?

All of a sudden I received a notification about getting tips on how to use my watch. Is Garmin pushing notifications? And if so, how the *** do I shut that down. I DO NOT want any notifications from Garmin. Note: This was not a text that made its way to my VA 3. This was a direct notification. Unfortunately, I was so pissed, I cleared it before taking a pic.
  • I saw the same thing after updating to 5.40 - looks like a suggested 'how to' type thing. No big deal. What is it about these that has you so mad? just wondering...
  • That's what happens with a new watch or after a hard reset. The go away after they're seen a time or two.

I'm not OP, but my "tip" woke me up at 06:45 on both Saturday and Sunday, since I had slept past my weekday wake time of 05:00. It makes me so angry that 1) you have to choose the same sleep/wake hours for every day, and 2) that even though the watch registers me as sleeping, it give me a tip at 6:45. I had to turn off the move alerts for the same reason - kept getting MOVE alerts awakening me from a dead sleep on the weekends.

Do you not have Do Not Disturb during sleep enabled in the settings? If you have set you sleep time in the settings in Connect then select your device in the Devices section, go to Device Settings > Notifications and Alerts and then turn During Sleep at top of the page (Connect Mobile on Android). Move alerts are disabled for one hour before and after your set sleep time.

I DID have them disabled, which is why I was so angry at being awakened.

Turns out the Garmin pushed notifications stopped after the first one or two (can’t remember now). As for being angry at getting them...I don’t ever like to receive notifications, spam, robo-calls, or any other messages that I didn’t specifically ask for. I understand that robo-calls are almost unstoppable, but something from a vendor that wasn’t requested is particularly annoying.

Just call me a cranky old whatever......
