Number of Data Fields

I'm wavering between the vivoactive 3 and the 645 and have some questions regarding number of fields on data pages for activities. On the vivoactive, I know that the number of data fields has some limitations compared to the 645. You can select 1,2,3 or 4 fields per data screen, but all the data screens need to have the same number of fields. So if you want 4 fields on the 1st screen, the 2nd and 3rd pages all have to have 4 fields. My question is, does this limitation go across activities. For example, if I have 4 fields on running, does biking also have to have 4 fields.
Also, if the number of fields can be different between activities, can I set up a second running activity and give it only 3 fields per page.
This really becomes an issue if you want to use any of the IQ data pages for running that require a single field. Then all your pages would require 1 data fields which is very limiting.

Answer: My setup is three fields for running and two for biking - so, looks like activities can have diff count of fields.

Also, if the number of fields can be different between activities, can I set up a second running activity and give it only 3 fields per page.

Answer: hmm, don't know this one. I guess you'd have to create a custom activity and name it 'run', or whatever, and see if you can use diff settings. That would be interesting to see how the watch handles it....

And then for this last one below here - yes, the single field thing for Connect IQ is a bit of a pain. I initially used a few CIQ apps for running & biking, but then realized the size of those data pages made the font really small, and I wasn't getting much out of those CIQ apps and then just went back to some of the built-in fields. Good luck!

Thanks for the info - My aging eyes need a bigger font, and if the fonts on the more complex CIQ are really small, the apps may not be that useful for me. So may not be as big an issue as I think. I have an older vivoactive which only allows 3 fields max per page, and also a 920 that allows up to 4 fields per page. Was going to use the 4 fields for most screens anyway.
