5.20 battery life

Anyone else notice a drop in battery life after updating to 5.20? I went from approx 7 days to 5 days if I'm lucky. I have no different apps or watch faces on my device from when I had the last software before 5.20.
  • What’s your source? Did you call them and did they confirm this?

Yes Garmin in Taiwan and Vietnam has confirmed with my friend via email. And as always, US comes first.
  • The most important thing about a smart device is always about how good is the software. I have never seen a good smart device with bad software. It doesn't like a fast car with bad navigation or bad BT connection can still have chance to be a good car. I am critical because new firmware usually brings new problems, sometimes the problems are very obvious. Not only this watch but many Garmin products usually suffering the same. People were critical about Windows PC in the past because it hanged almost everyday. But today, even restart the VA3 or back to factory state doesn't solve the problem.
Oh, you know their update schedule? Are you working in Garmin or you get the source from somewhere? Thanks for your "leakage" anyway if it is real.

I'm a user and I don't work for Garmin but Garmin in Taiwan and Vietnam have confirmed with my friends and usually, Garmin in US comes first, that's why I tell you about the date.

Yes, software should be great but sometimes, things go in between, can't ask for perfection in every update as long as it works as it should with its purpose.

Yeah, sometimes you are frustrated about an update but overall Garmin treats me well so I think saying a company is bad because of some bad updates doesnt seem fair.

    ????????????

I have to say again, I am not looking for perfection. Do I say something bad implies that I am looking for 100 marks? I am sure many ppl once say somebody, some colleagues, some movies, some food or something are bad in their life. But they are not looking for perfection sometimes, they just need something basic. Have you ever say something bad in your life and you think you are unfair to them?
You buy something and the company promise to give you certain functions, however some functions never works even after years of repairing. That company never say sorry to us. So, who is making unfair?
I have cameras, phones, computers, cars etc in my life. Some of them sometimes cannot perform well but I accept them as nothing is perfect. I never comment a brand is bad in my life, except Garmin. Because it is way below the standard. Pls also think about legal judges on courts. They also would comment some law breakers' behavior is bad or even evil. Do the judges are too harsh, unfair and they are just looking for perfect people?

    Have you succeeded?

I have not tried it yet because I can't disable the auto firmware update.
Maybe, it's desirable to wait for new firmware.

You know what, the funny thing is that I still cant find the update as Garmin Express keeps telling me that there is no update.
  • My APAC VA3 got FW5.50 update. Hope the battery life can improve.
    It's only 3days at FW5.40.
  • Garmin replaced my watch under warranty, I held off until the 5.4 update, my battery life went from 24 hours to 36 with that one, the new watch instantly updated to 5.40 and I'm back to 4 days life with 2 hours bike of recording in that. however it appears the new watch is faulty as well. updating the sensor software every 2nd day, cant have been refurb'd that well.
