5.20 battery life

Anyone else notice a drop in battery life after updating to 5.20? I went from approx 7 days to 5 days if I'm lucky. I have no different apps or watch faces on my device from when I had the last software before 5.20.
• I used to get 4-5 days with no activity recording, with 2.5 hours of cycling I use to get about 48 hours. now I'm down to about 22 hours with no activity or 16-19 hours with a 1 hour ride. I have a support ticket open, they reckon 5-10 days for engineer response. glad to know I'm not the only one.

Could you indicate us how long you have this smartwatch ?

P.S. When you are testing the autonomy, please set a watchface without the second hand.

Thanks

For the folks who are getting 3-5 days, are you doing daily exercise? I typically do 1 - 1.5 hours a day of exercise that involves GPS and HRM and am lucky of the watch is not dead at the end of the second day.

I am not doing any excercise in the last couple of weeks, and it would run out of battery in ~2-3 days. I tried doing the factory reset yesterday (ie reset to defaults) and whilst I thought it had made a difference, now Im not sure...

I charged my VA3 to 100% this morning at 7.30am, its now 13:30pm so 6hrs later and its dropped 11% ! Im not doing any excercises. So in 24 hrs it will have dropped 44%, looks like Im still getting 2-3 days out of it, with no excercise tracking!!!!

As a curious point, I did some a 30 minute cardio session using my VA3 last night and the battery did not seem to discharge any quicker so it seems to be a constant background drain!

Yup there is definitely something amiss in the latest update! BTW how does one open a support ticket? As I think we should all open an official support ticket for this issue!
• My VA3 is a month old and I'm only getting back into training so I'm at about 30 minutes every other day. I have it connected to my phone and get many notifications on the watch. I also do HR recording every second and use GPS + Glonass
I use a watchface without the second hand and the average discharge the IQ My Battery monitor shows is between 0.6 and 0.8% an hour, so I get over 4 days usually and am really happy with that. I charge the watch on longer car rides or during meetings ;)
• I do just over one hour of activity everyday. I also have my watch in my pocket for 9.5 hours on th days I work. My watch will last 4 days

You keep your watch in your pocket for the majority of your waking hours? :P

I suspect that is part of the key to your battery life. Cheers!
• I work in a cheese plant so no wearables on the wrist . So four days a week I have to do this

I have had the watch about 8 months now, It is a software issue, it started to drain faster as soon as the update was applied. My watch has not once in it's life dropped from 100% -> 98 percent so fast in it's life.

anyone else who wants to open a ticket email - "][email protected]

Cool!!! That would be almost as neat (if you like cheese) as working in a brewery. :)
• Have had the va3 for more than half year. The battery life basically shortens along with each update, marginally. I was fine with it as long as each update fixes something. Of course, each update also breaks something else(lol). But until this, the v5.2 drives me crazy. Updated to v5.2, was Ok for maybe a day or so, then the battery starts to drain like hell. Approx. 30% drop over my short overnight sleep, doing nothing. Definitely a firmware issue.
