5.20 Spontaneous Reboot and Garmin Express Updates

Hey folks - I was out cycling today when my watch spontaneously rebooted. When it started again I was able to resume the activity. However, in spite of the activity being recorded, all information recorded by the watch from 3:00 a.m. this morning until the time of the reboot was deleted. I figured it was just another Gremlin hiding in the VA3 so went on with my day and synced the watch a couple of times with Connect Mobile to see if the lost info would magically reappear (it didn't). Upon getting home I decided to sync the watch with Garmin Express. I plugged the watch in and was notified "You Have Items Ready to Install" and the watch began syncing. Upon completion, once again I was advised "You Have Items Ready to Install". I checked and they are IQ app updates. Figuring it was yet another Gremlin, I rebooted the watch then tried to sync with Garmin Express which once again synced and then shared "You Have Items Ready to Install" and multiple syncs failed to install those updated apps.

Ultimately, I synced with Connect Mobile and fortunately the IQ app updates appeared to install because, after completing that sync, I once again synced with Garmin Express and was enthusiastically informed "Sync complete!"

Is anyone else experiencing spontaneous reboots with 5.2 during activities or Garmin Express sync issues? Thanks all!

I had this same problem with Express a couple of months back. I made sure I had the latest version installed and it continuously told me I had updates to install after the sync was completed also. The only fix I found was to uninstall Express from my computer (PC) and then reinstall it again. This was happening to both my 935 and my wife's VA3, so I think it's an issue with Express and not your watch. No idea why you're getting the reboot.
