HI. I think i found either a solution or a workaround.... had the same issue, and it works now...
I checked all of these items and turned on what was off...
On your Phone:
Clock>AppInfo>Notifications…
I have the same issue. I have been told that the Garmin software can not handle this. I hope there will be a software update to resolve this issue.
1. Unistall the Google Alarm Clock
2. Download and install an older version (7.1) in Uptown (clock.en.uptodown.com/.../versions)
3. Disable the auto-update (https://i.stack.imgur.com/HllQl.jpg)

No - I have used it on 2 different devices with 3 different Android versions with my Fenix 6. Are you sure you are using Google's Clock app and not Samsung's substitution? Samsung are notorious for providing their own substitutions for most of Google apps(Messages, Clock, Phone, etc.). When did your problems start? The Clock app broke for Garmin device more than 6 months ago, so if you started experiencing problems recently - there is different reason for it.
