Garmin Pay - Wallet won´t synchronize

Finally Garmin Pay was announced in germany, with help of a 3rd party provider.
I´created an account there and added it successfully via Connect Mobile (Android).

The Card is now in my Wallet. The app shortly overlayed "synchronization to device" and finished.
Afterwards I also did a synch from within the app.

When I now start Pay on my Vivoactive3, it says my wallet is empty and I should add a card in Connect Mobile.

Things I´ve already done:
  • Remove Card
  • Remove Wallet
  • Added new Wallet
  • Added Card again
  • Wait for "Transferred to device"
  • -> No Wallet
  • Restarted Watch
  • Restarted Phone
  • ->No Wallet
  • Lock Card
  • Wait for Synching-Message & Notification
  • Left GCM
  • Opend GCM
  • Unlock Card
  • Wait for Synching-Message & Notification
  • ->No Wallet

I tried it for 3 days now, without any success. Due to other countries support Garmin Pay longer then germany, it´s surprisingly that I am the first with this kind of issue :rolleyes:

PS. Might be rather a GCM then a VA3 problem. I don´t know.

    I have the same problem with my Forerunner 645.
    I wrote several emails to the support team.
    I called the german support.
    No help was available.
    They could not reproduce the error.
    the last message I got was:
    "we will hand over the problem to our internal support"

    I let you know as soon as I get an answer....

    Im experiencing the same problem with my vivoactive 3 in Norway, currently waiting for a response from Garmin support.
  • You have to charge your VIMPay account. After that, you have to move money from VIMpay to Garmin Pay in the vimpay app. Here you'll find a German description: https://www.vimpay.de/garmin-pay/
  • Nothing indicates there, that the wallet will only appear, when the account is prepaid.
    I did every step from that link, except transferring money to it, which I did now. We will see, but I don´t expect it to be related.
    Other countries, which use Credit/debit Cards, also doesn´t have only a wallet with money on their bank account ;)

    I did nothing. The synching took much longer than before and then the card was there.
    was pure magic ;-)

    Had the same problem as HerrRiebmann, but in the USA and on an FR645 with an Android phone.
    I could see the card on GCM but it would not transfer to the watch.
    I tried many of the remove/add options and the Software, Firmware updates (no magic like Karo) plus 40 mins on the phone with Garmin Tech support yesterday with no success.
    What DID work for me today was syncing from an iOS device (I'm lucky enough to have an android phone and an iPad).
    I added the FR645 to GCM on the iPad, BT Sync'd and the card showed up on the watch immediately.
    If you don't have an iOS device this isn't much use to you, but it may indicate a GCM iOS vs Android problem as opposed to a VA3 or FR645 issue.
    Good luck!
  • Hmm, nice to know that it works with iOS. Got an iPhone as well. But I´m a little afraid, that my settings and stuff all getting mixed up :eek:
    There was no magic on Android after that update. Even after locking and unlocking the card.

    I also transferred some money to the german VIM Pay provider. As expected, this did not changed anything.
  • Update:
    Indeed, using my iPhone instantly transferred my wallet onto my watch.
    A bit annoying, that the VA3 will be detected as a new device and you have to setup the general settings again.

    So it is definitely a problem with Connect Mobile for Android.

    What was a bit freaky: Tapping on "add Garmin Pay" instantly showed my Wallet and Card, which I created on my Android device. With Card-Number and stuff. All the things, garmin promises not to synch anywhere...
    It might not be as announced, that they only store a hash value :rolleyes:
