So if I walk a few steps my counter doesn’t update right away then look at the screen a minute later it updates. Is this normal ? I just bought a vivoactive 3 also some watch faces require permission to talk to the internet while others don’t Also HR went to 150bpm while I was just sitting a weird spike. Otherwise I like better than Fitbit ionic I had before this
With custom CIQ watchfaces most will only update the count once a minute most of the time (the full watch face only updates every minutes to save battery) Also, Garmin uses a "10 or more" filter for steps. Until you take 10 steps or more, those steps aren't counted, but then you are given credit for them when you do 10 or more (it's to reduce fake steps due to arm movement, etc)
As far as the permission for the internet, those are generally watch faces that go out to the internet for weather info.
For the HR, I've not seen that, but could be related to how tight/lose the watch is on your wrist.
Thanks Jim do you know of any watch face that displays steps and heart rate that updates step count and heart rate in real time or close to it? also in my sleep it recorded 22 steps , now my Fitbit sucked but it’s step count was in real time and during sleep it never recorded steps
I have a few that do hr at close to real time, but not steps. Doing steps at 1hz actually isn't that common. If I did it, I'd probably do hr OR steps, as there's a limited amount that can be done at 1hz.
As far as steps while sleeping, a common cause is getting up to use the restroom, but movement while you sleep could also cause it.
I have a few. Simple Heart display it all the time and large, Four Fields allows the HR as one of the 4 data fields,6-8-10 Fields if you want to see even more things,Simple Activity with some fixed data fields...
