Does Wifi work for anyone?

Just got a Vivoactive 3 Music, updated the firmware to the latest, and haven't been able to get the Wifi to work at all.

It's able to see the networks just fine, but when it tries to actually connect, I'm seeing a 'Connection Failed'.

I've tried three different router types:

1) Apple Airport Extreme
2) D-Link
3) Apple iPhone 8 in Personal Hotspot Mode

I've also tried with and without WPA password protection. Unfortunately neither is working.

I have a 645 Music and the Wifi works okay, so I don't think there's anything wrong with my setup (e.g. multi-path interference etc).
  • I used the Garmin Connect app on Android and as mentioned above.

    Garmin Devices -> v3m -> general -> wi-fi networks -> [ssid] -> Test Network Connection

    results in the watch saying the connection was sucessful... but trying to actually use it results in a connection error...
  • I also used the Garmin Connect App on Android, with the same result like MrMatt

    Just got my VA3M a couple of days back and I can confirm that it doesn't work with D-Link (DIR 816) and Ubiquiti Routers as well.
  • Just tried the FW update 2.70. The WiFi can now be successfully added from the phone.

    However, when I try to actually use it in some capacity, either by clicking Sync manually, or use a music player that calls up WiFi implicitly, I end up getting a 'No WiFi Network Found'. I haven't been able to get WiFi to work end-to-end yet. This is using an AirPort Extreme with WPA.

    I just got the update to SW 2.7 and was able to connect to my Belkin router via setup through the phone app on Android 8. I haven't tested it without the phone app yet. On SW 2.5 I would get a connection error to please try again later.
  • Is this working for everyone? I just got my watch a week ago and can not connect to my wifi.

    I'm running watch sw version 2.70 and wifi version 2.50. I've tried updating the software, but it says no updates are available.
    I have set up the wifi network via my Andriod phone and Connect over bluetooth. It sees the available networks, allows me to enter the security (it is WEP), but I consistently get errors trying to connect, either from the Android app or directly with the watch interface.

    I'm curious if everyone's issues have been resolved with upgrading to sw 2.7, as my issues have not.

    VA3m with sw2.70 and wifi 2.50 -- connection fails from watch (no known network found); connection fails when triggered from Android app settings (test connection);
    connection works ONE time when wifi info added from Garmin Express (I saw "transfer complete" on watch) but then connection fails or known network not found on subsequent attempts.
    Tried wifi from several routers and Android phone hotspot - same failure in each case.

    VA3M with sw 2.7 and wifi 2.5 - Working for me. When I try connecting wifi from the the watch it says transfer complete.
  • Changed to wpa2 on wifi and it works. Maybe just WEP that's an issue.

    Tried with wpa2 only but no better than wpa+wpa2; still no connection possible.
    The most successful result I've seen is with a BT homehub router. The watch is able to transfer data to this more often than not. The only difference I see is the genexis router is wpa2-psk+tkip whereas homehub is reported as psk only. Android-N's hotspot is psk only, or even when just Open, no connection is possible.
    What's Homehub got that the others do not?
