Just got mine yesterday. I'm coming from a Forerunner 620 I've had for years. The heart rate strap no longer connects to the watch no matter what I do (new battery, new strap, reboot watch, factor default watch...). I thought about five years of tech like a running watch might be a good reason to buy new.
I bought mainly for the glass face with no bezel. I, personally, like the look.
Steep learning curve. Steeeeep. Very steeeeep.
Mainly use it for interval running (knee surgery - have to ramp up slowly) and will now try the strength training section to keep me from 'over-resting' between sets.
More, later, if all would like.
Great you got an VA3M... Can you let us know if the Altimeter/elevation/altitude works ? (go for a loop hike/walk and check the altitude at your start/end point, it should be more or less the same...
The VA3M has the barometric holes on the side, rather than underneath as for the VA3, and I am keen to know if it makes any differences....

Went into the dumpster instead. I won't but a watch without a bezel since then. Might work ok for you more graceful types. But not for me.
