SW v5.0 and lock

Still no joy with the v5.0 update for auto-lock woes. I'm sure there's plenty of requests/issues out there, but for me the problems are:
  • Accidental delete/reorder widgets and watch face - Add a widget/watchface lock feature.
  • Screen sensitivity - lock touch screen but still able to use Side Swipe[SUP](TM)
  • [/SUP]Control and Key

  • Padlock Icon is too big - replace padlock with other indicator (e.g. red ring around the rim)
  • Unable to action notifications - temporoary remove lock for notification (for me, widget lock would solve this)
  • Activity pages - lock touch screen (to prevent cancelling activity) but enable Side Swipe and Key

I welcome other ideas and thoughts and I hope Garmin does too :)

  • Hello,

    I encounter some issues also...
    Since update :
    - all widgets don't work, except Garmin widgets- After removal and reinstall of one of them, all widget are working now
    - When I lock my watch, it's not locked and I can use all functions...

I am totally agree with you. It should be automatically unlock in case of an alarm or notification

  • All good points Scholy. But I would prefer to have a choice - in case of alarm/call/notification - automatically unlock/do not unlock/unlock only when not in exercise.

All good points. I agree the lock needs to be more subtle. I like the idea of a red ring around the rim of the watch face.
I also accidentally change watch faces, reorder or delete widgets and launch the stop watch. A less intrusive lock feature would be great.

I'd also add an option to delete all notifications from the watch.

So far I'm liking the 5.0 update. Garmin made a huge step in the right direction. They just need to keep the momentum going.

Deleting widgets is my biggest problem with the VA3 and find it so annoying that I have the auto-lock feature turned on. The auto-lock is so intrusive that I can't be bothered using the widgets anyway.
