Unresponsive screen - Custom watchface issue

Former Member
Former Member
Hi,
I am using VA3 for 2 weeks and in general I am pretty much happy with a device. However, couple of times, after adding some custom watchfaces (NoFrills for example), I noticed that after some time the touch screen starts to be very unresponsive, inaccurate and slow. So yesterday I remove all my custom watch faces and use generic one - the result: without any issue at the end.

Do you guys experience such a bug too or I am the only one?

  • So, the issue lies with the people who have created the custom watch face? Have you spoke with them?

Actually not. So to break it into more details there are some questions without the answer atm:

    - Do you, the owners of VA3 got above issue (if not then my watch is the only one, no need to check with a creator of the most popular watch face).
    - If do, do the other model owners got the same issue (Fenix owners i.e.) maybe the issue is only related to the VA3
    - Who need to test and to approve something on IQ connect base? Is to possible to upload there some software without any tests ?

Thats why I open first this topic, then, based on the feedback we should go even further with investigation.

    no issue here...
u said u installed a few... so to start over again the logical thing to do here is of cos to install each custom watch face one at a time...then see if any unresponsiveness occurs.

just dont go around blaming the issue solely on the va3, which seems to be happening more often, when the issue could always come from elsewhere.
  • No issue here with NoFrills and a number of other watch faces. Sometime a reboot of the watch can resolve things like this. Hold the button until the watch turns off (maybe 15-20 seconds) and then turn it back on.

Ok, thank your for the feedback. I got this bug only with NoFrills and Crystal. It is interesting everything is fine with Korea (created by Garmin) and generic ones.

Unfortunately, I found out this reboot solution immediately because it was the only way to get my device in normal mode.

Bought it 3 days ago and totally secrewed up touch when doing strength training. Double tap never switches between working set to rest modr. Very annoyed. Might return.

  • It might be the same as with workouts, it seems the touch screen is not used but rather the motion sensor, so tap with your nail to see if that works better.

Thanks for the tip and tried with nail. It did work a bit better but still have to double tap few times. Will see if i get use to it but tbh its still not acceptable. Its frustrating to do this.
