Clean altimeter holes

Hello,

There are some threads telling that the altimeter should be cleaned to avoid errors in pressure measurements (pretty obvious).
So, how can this be cleaned, since the holes are very small?
I suppose that it is not a good idea blow in it.
Any technical solution for this?
Thanks

Put the watch in luke warm water with a little mild soap and swish it around. Rinse with fresh water.

    Hello,
Just to understand correctly (I talk brazilian portuguese), when you say "put the wach in warm water", you mean to dive the watch inside a bowl, and then shake the watch inside this bowl?
    Is that correct?
    Thanks

Just move the watch around in the bowl or sink while holding it. You don't have to shake it vigorously. Then rinse the watch under running water from the faucet. This is per the manual.

Update: I misspoke. It's per Garmin's online support and not the manual.

    Other factors to consider:

Some factors that might impact the function of the altimeter/barometer might include rapidly moving air entering the sensor ports while participating in high speed activities; climate controlled buildings which can have slightly different pressure indoors compared to the ambient pressure outside; and soap, dirt, or salts from sweat which can clog the sensor ports. For the latter, you can try to clean the ports by soaking the watch in warm water with a little mild detergent.

Note: Never insert anything into the openings as it could damage the sensor inside.
  • Thanks a lot.
    imI gonna try this.
