BT Connect Problems since FW3.5?

Hello everybody, I've been satisfied with my VA3 for months, BT connections were never a problem. At the same time as the update to the FW 3.5, I changed my smartphone to a Nokia 6.1 with Oreo 8.1 Phone installed, Garmin Connect installed and VA3 connected. No problem. VA3 synchronized, no problem. After interrupting the BT connection, either by leaving the range, or by manually deactivating the watch, the VA3 no longer connects, which was not a problem before the Nokia. The behavior is reproducible, so remove VA3 from phone, uninstall connect, reinstall, always exactly the same behavior. Connect once and sync goes, then it's over. Interestingly, the VA3 on a Fire Tablet behaves just like that. A Connect to a Win10 device is no longer possible. The only other thing about the watch is FW3.5 Does anyone have similar experiences? Is there a trick to downgrade the FW? A factory reset of the clock brings nothing ... Thanks and greetings Andreas

I am having exactly the same problem as you describe, only with a Garmin Forerunner 235. I used it without any problems on a Nexus 5X (which broke down unfortunately), but since I try to use it with the new Nokia 6.1 I am experiencing the same problem. I am not aware of a recent firmware-upgrade for my Forerunner, so perhaps it has to do with the Nokia or Android Oreo?

Are there any other people with the same issue?
  • Same issue on Nokia 7 plus on Oreo 8.1... I am with contact with Nokia and Garmin support(im waiting for Garmin reply regarding bluetooth profiles on VA3).
  • Interestingly, the VA3 on a Fire Tablet behaves just like that.

There is a garmin connect app for amazon fire tablets? I searched but did not see.

As to BT issue, I have this problem with my iPhone. Sometimes after disconnecting (left BT range and then return), it will not reconnect soon (or at all). I either have to close the Garmin Connect mobile and reopen it and/or turn on/off bluetooth on watch.
  • The BT issue from the main topic with Nokias is known by Garmin and they are working on it
  • What do you think is the problem here? Hardware/Software/Sensor or the Device itself? It show that Bluetooth is connected because i can read notifications, but the Weather Data on the watch is different from the phone, its been inaccurate in the past days.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1344053.jpg

it can be several things but i think its either:
    1. different data provider
    2. temperature not synced throughout the day

What do you mean different data provider? as far as i know the datas shown on the watch should sync with the phone where it is connected via Bluetooth, but with my VA3 weather data shown on watch and phone is different.
  • Different weather apps can use different data providers. The VA3 doesn't know what weather app you have installed on your phone. It uses its own. My VA3 is usually pretty close to my Accuweather app but often different by a degree or two. I think part of the difference is due to Accuweather temps being updated more often than my VA3 but in my case clearly they are using different data. I've also noticed in my area the Weather Channel app is using yet another provider since the temps are always very different.

Im just using the iPhone's built in weather app, and also i just noticed it recently the weather data inconsistency and from what i understand all the data and notifications are dependent on the phone via Bluetooth connection.
