Is there a way to increase the screen brightness on the Vivoactive 3?
I know you can increase the brightness of the backlight, but the non-backlit screen needs a little boost.

I don't think, I couldn't find any setting regarding your issue.

    i dont see the logic?
it is a transreflective display... so the more light shines on it... the easier it is to read...
and it surely beats regular lcd for readability as that needs a backlight to read, else all u see is black.

    Simple answer is no.

I'm not trying to say that you are incorrect, but the va3 does not have an ambient light sensor like the vaHR did. The vaHR screen vividness increased when you were in direct sunlight.

the sunlight hitting etc is a trait of a transreflective lcd... as with the va3.
and doesn't the ambient light sensor of vahr only works if the backlight is on?

The screen looks fine when drenched in sunlight, the boost in brightness is for the times you don't have much sunlight but it's really not dark enough (or convenient) to trigger the backlight.
Also might help when looking at the watch at a slight angle.
  • What you're seeing is the same with even the high end garmins. The reflective LCD, which uses as little battery as possible, is on all the time, and it looks best in sunlight.

What you may want to try is different colors on your watch face, as based on the ambient light, some color combos may work better for you.

yes, as above... try a different color scheme.
black on white of cos being the easiest to read... basically anything with higher contrast.
