The watch is showing incorrect time!

It happens that the watch is showing incorrect time. The difference was from few minutes to one and half hour. It happend 2-3 times when the Time Source was Auto. Thought it was the problem with phone communication and changed Time Source to Manual mode. It was OK for 2-3 weeks and today in Manual mode of Time Source it happend again - the difference was about 1 hour 20 minutes, luckily I noticed the difference at one.

Does anyone had such an issue? The watch is uselles with this problem, I can not trust the time I get!

I used to have Forerunner 610, Vivoctive and Vivoctive HR and NEVER had this issue with these units. I also haven't seen similar problem on the forum.

I think it needs repair/replacement.

I've had this twice since the recent updates. Hard reset fixes it, but I know this shouldn't really be happening in the first place!?

Same happened to me =( time stopped updating automatically, need to scroll to another screen and back to see the actual time.
  • Mine did this, in Settings | System | Time, the time source had somehow been changed to Manual. I set it to Auto and it worked again, assume it was caused during a firmware update as I hadn't changed it.
  • I had this happen once.
I think it was because I turned the watch off. When I turned watch back on, the time was still at when I turned it off -- it only changed when I synced with phone.
My deduction -- turning watch off freezes the time.
I have my clock settings at "auto set"

I had this several times per week. It is frustrating. I mean that the basic function of watch is to display the correct time. I have correct time only after manual sync with my phone. Such device can´t serve as watch if I need also phone. Unfortunately there is no indication, that time is wrong.

I found this problem a couple of months ago, looks like Garmin still haven't fix it / found the cause......
  • I have had this happen around 8 times now. I've tried using manual time setting and it seems to make no difference.

I wonder if it's down to the GCM app or the Watch software? I turn my phone off at night and occasionally for travel and wonder whether it's this break in connection causing the issue but haven't been able to pin point it as it's sometimes hard to notice when it happens. But why shouldn't the watch be able to function alone?

Was never a problem with original Vivoactive or Vivoactive HR. Concerns me as I use it for my wake up alarms for work!

Will do a hard reset and possibly roll back GCM all the way back to 4.1.1 when things seemed less random.
  • Looks like there's be a fix coming as it's mentioned in the Beta. Software not GCM then:
    • Fixed issue with pairing to Huawei phones
    • Fixed an issue with time changing after syncing
    • Fixed an issue with app trial messages not displaying

For me it happened the first time last week. I wore my watch during the night and the next morning the watch was about 23 hours behind (date was wrong too!).
