Battery drain issues after 3.40 update

My device was automatically updated to 3.40 yesterday. Activities names now are fixed. But now it has a serious battery issue, before to be updated to 3.40 battery life was 3/4 days with normal use, I mean 1 or 2 activities a day, 30 minutes gps/day average. But now my battery life is 12 hs without any activity so can you please fix it ASAP??

Have you tried restarting your VA3? Are you using a custom watchface?

    Thank you Talahthas.

I´m not using any custom watchface or any app, just factory (bad) software. Tried with restart and factory reset and same thing, actually the battery is draining at a 8-10%/hour rate using the device just as a watch, is really annoying!

Can you synchronize your VA3 with the GC app? Maybe it's continuously trying to sync without being able to finish that process?

When it was updated to 3.40 the bluetooth seems to be dead, no matter if I tried to restart the phone, the device, tried to erase the device from the phone list, etc. But after the hard reset it becomes to work again. Now the unit is syncrhonizing the usual way.

Have you checked System Settings in the GC app? Last Option for data recording can be set to every second or switched to "Intelligent". Do you have any external sensors paired with your VA3? Do smart notifications on your VA3 work the way they should?
I also would install "CleanAnalog Plus" for testing purposes because with that watchface you can continuously have a look at your VA3's battery status while also displaying heart rate.

In fact the device has all the items set as factory since the factory reset I do this morning. No sensors, no watch faces, no apps, just as brand new watch from factory, so the data recording is set to "intelligent". In fact I never changed other settings than the Widgets order, Favorites and Activities Screens since I brought the Unit, in January. So the watch is really clean in terms of software tweaks or changes, without considering several Garmin updates, of course ;)

New data on this, I performed a second hard reset, but this time I forgot to sync the device with the phone, and now the battery life seems to be better, in the last hour it drains from 70% to just 69%
So, at a first glance the issue seems to be Bluetooth related.
I will keep trying to better understand what´s going on . . .

Smart vs 1 second recording only affects how often it records data to file while in an activity.
