Restarting the Device vs Restoring All Default Settings

Just wondering what the difference is between these two options. I'd rather not have to start over with custom settings if that option doesn't potentially fix software issues that Restarting the Device wouldn't take care of.
  • Restore Defaults resets the watch to the way it was setup from the factory. Any IQ apps/widgets/watchfaces/etc. will be deleted, workouts you loaded will be deleted, and any customization to the data screens for activities will be reset.

Restarting will just turn the watch off. When you turn it back on all of your customization will be intact.
  • Thank you for the response. So would it be advisable, in lieu of the several firmware updates (mine shipped with 2.60) to restore the defaults to make sure there are no residual firmware issues?

If you are having odd problems other folks are not having, then "Nuke from Orbit" and restore to defaults. It is the only way to be sure.
  • One can do a hard reset by not just powering down the watch - but hold the button in until it powers down and until it eventually restarts
