Every Garmin I've owned over the past 15+ years has given a "5-4-3-2-1" countown before the end of a timed running workout step. On some devices you could choose whether to get the countdown via a beep, a vibration, or both - but there was always a way.
Today I did my first workout using the VA3 and was surprised that there was no such countdown - just a vibration when the step was over.
Particularly for intervals, the countdown at the end of the recovery step is hugely valuable, letting me gradually ramp back up my cadence (a key for us "experienced" runners).
I don't think the VA3 has the capability to beep, but a "nudge" vibration for each of the last 5 (or, even better, a programmable number of) seconds would do the job.
Is there a way to do this that I missed, or is this a "feature" that has fallen out of the Garmin developers' view? If it's the latter, I'd strongly vote to reinstate it in an update release.
