One of the things that I liked from the specs of this watch was the Auto Activity Start. Regrettably, I tested it and didn't got it... Did any of you get an autostart from this feature?
I got this feature working after I found out that there is actually two settings that needs to be activated:
On the watch: 1. Make sure it is activated in the main settings menu (Settings->Activity Tracking->Auto Activity Start) 2. Then enter the settings for the specific activity you want to auto start, i.e. walk, run etc. (Select activity -> Settings -> Auto Activity Start)
this means that each time i will run (more than 3 min, according to the setting i have for RUN activity) all the things will get enabled by default? (GPS, etc....)....same as i would manually started the activity?
Move IQ and Auto Activity Start are two different things.
Move IQ is putting only a grey marker in your timeline so that you can read it more easily even if this day is a few months ago and you dont remember anymore what you did back than. But it does not track any additional data. and states only a rough duration.
Auto Activity Start: Well, Starts and activity automatically. Than can be really nice and this can be a real mess. That is why it is turned of by default. If you set the time frame to small it will start an activity for almost everything and you loose the overview, plus the battery will be drained much fast. If you set the time frame to long, it wont track the entire activity and is therefore inaccurate. Plus you never know if your Vivoactive actually identified the right activity. *sarcasm* My Girlfriend walks on a elliptical to work on a regular basis. *sarcasm off*
I recommend the default settings from Garmin. Move IQ "on" Auto Activity Start "off"

Well, that's an opinion. I'd like to have recorded all this walkings that start with no special intention and end will a long walk. It's about what you like.
