No sound on Vivoactive3

I just bought a vivoactive3 (version 2.90) and I'm trying to configure my alarms. Whether on heart rate alarms during an activity or a time alarm, there is no sound coming out of the watch. is that normal on a watch at this price? I'm disappointed
thanks
  • The VA3 - similar to its predecessors - does not have a beeper. Vibration is the only method of sounding alarms.
  • You can see that, if you compare the watch with others.
But currently the specs (without a comparison) only show "included" features. That´s not the best solution, if you don´t know about specific features (you are aware of).

In former times you could also see some features, which were not included, if I remember right...

    thanks for this information.
incredible that on a watch at this price there is no audible alarm. So I'm not going to keep it and change it for another brand.
  • The vivo family doesn't have tones, but starting with forerunners, they do. To be honest, the vibes can get my attention better than tones in many cases (I'll be set up for vibes, vibes and tones, but not just tones). Consider cases where you are using earbuds or where it's loud.

If the watch is off your wrist and on a table, you'll usually notice it too, and in fact maybe more so! :)
  • If you set the vibration to hard you can actually listen to it. but honestly why would you need sound, when you can have the reminder right there on you wrist.

My old Forerunner used to speak into my ear via my bluetooth headphones with audio alerts on time and pace. Why doesn't the more expensive Vivoactive 3 have this function? I'm disappointed.

  • Because the Forerunner is a pro running device and the Vivoactive is a fitnesstracker / allrounder device.

If you want to have pro running features, use a forerunner. You are a riding a bike, go for an Edge.
Everything at once like Hiking, Running, Riding, Swimming or Triathlon take a Fenix.
Fittnessfunctionality and a bit of everything (but not pro), use the VA.

For that, Garmin has the feature comparsion.

You also cannot expect sailing or pilot features on a (comperatively) cheaper device.

Guys I also have a vivoactive 3 music and I cannot get it to vibrate at all .. I have the vibrate turned on to hard and 'do not disturb' turned off (incase this may be having an effect) but no vibrate.. I need this to work to let me know when times are finished etc for workouts .. bizarre .. just a fault maybe ?
