Hi all, since the recent update my vivoactive 3 has been disconnecting from my phone and also my HR strap during activities. It can't be a coincidence as it's started pretty much the same day as the update. I have tried turning the device on and off etc . Currently running 2.9 SW version
Hi, I do believe I'm facing the same thing: received an update pushed on sunday, and then shortly after, all smart notifications failing to be relayed on my Vivoactive 3. In fact, whenever scrolling to the notifications screen, it constantly complained about the "phone connection required". I rebooted both the Vivoactive 3 watch and my phone (a Honor 5X, if that ever matters) at least twice, but no success in restoring the smart notifications mechanism. The weird thing is that Garmin Connect keeps receiving my activity from the watch on the smartphone, it's really only the smart notifications push from smartphone to Vivoactive that doesn't work.
Being tired of it, I eventually uninstalled/removed Garmin Connect completely from my smartphone, then re-installed it and... it almost magically worked after I paired again the vivoactive 3 device. Now text notifications are back again on my Vivoactive 3... I sporadically get disconnect/reconnect issues though, but not to the extent that it could never reach the device like for the past two days.
Hope this helps... although I'd like to see more reliability in what seems to be a weakness in the Garmin Connect app.
