Floors climbed

Hi ... I got a new Vivoactive 3 for Christmas after my Vivoactive 1 died a horrible and cruel death. (Don't ask) lol

Anyway, can someone explain how the floors climb is measured? ... I went for a mountain bike ride the last couple of days with about 3000 feet of climbing each but the watch shows 0 floors climbed ... does it only measure if an activity is being recorded? I record all my rides on my 520 or is there some other variable I have not considered?

Cheers

  • Floors are an appx 10'/3m change in elevation (as measured by the baro altimeter), but there are other variables, such as steps and time. For example, you wouldn't what floors counted when you're standing in an elevator and going up a few floors (no steps). In the same way, there's a walking bridge I use that has a ramp and stairs on both sides. If I take the stairs, I get floors, but not if I take the ramp. Same change in elevation, but it's much slower with the ramp. And the change would be much faster in an elevator, so no floors even with steps

You'll get floors if you're in an activity or if you're just using the watch face. It doesn't matter
