Vivoactive 3 does not start

Hello my name is Carsten and my englisch is not perfect, but i get some help from my daughter. I already have the vivo active 3 for two months and it worked well. Today I wanted to install some data files and during the synchronization I got a message from the app that the watch is not connected. Although the battery was barely empty the watch turned off. I tried to restart it by pulling the button for fifteen seconds, but when I try to turn the watch on it only show the Garmin sign and doesn’t start completely. I even tried it with Garmin Express on my computer. However it also doesn’t recognized the watch. All in all my question is, if my method was a soft reset or a hard reset and if anybody knows another way to restart the whole watch.

I think something similar happened to someone else. Make sure Garmin Express on your computer is updated to the latest version and then try syncing the watch again. I believe this worked for them. If the watch doesn't restart after that, try a hard restart (hold button for approx 15 secs) while it's still connected to your computer. Best of luck!
  • Thank for your answer...
The problem is that the Garmin Express does not find the clock when it is connected to the PC. Even if I connect it and make a reset of 15 seconds. It only shows the Garmin Triangle and vibrate about every 30-45 seconds only.

Let's try this. Disconnect the Garmin USB charging cable from the computer. Restart the computer and connect the charging cable again. You can also try a different USB port on your computer if available. Connect the VA3 again. Does your computer recognize the watch now?
  • This also does not work ...

What have I already done ?

Normally I have the watch on the MAC and there it was also recognized yesterday.

Latest Garmin software is on the MAC, all USB removed, MAC restarted and the watch connected to USB. It starts but stops at the triangle again and hums every 30-45 seconds. Also when I reset it again and again.

Then I installed Garmin software on the notebook (Windows) but even there it doesn't worked.

Unfortunately, the majority of people with this problem had to exchange their watches. There are two more things to try that worked for some. First, connect your watch to the charging cable and force a hard restart (hold for 15 secs) while it's connected. Another thing that worked for someone is to hold the power button for 30 secs or longer. Keep holding the button even after it powers down. Hopefully, one of these two will get you out of this boot cycle. If not, you'll have to wait until Tuesday to contact Garmin Support, or hope someone else can assist you better than I've been able too.
