Anyone else find the big lock icon annoying in the middle of the screen ?

I use the line watch face (https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/8f8adabf-8cb1-4ffd-b40e-283350d47601) which I found beautiful.

When I press the button to read the hour, there is this bug lock icon in the middle of screen that prevent from reading the time.

I would love if Garmin switch a smaller icon / a light overlay / a border / ... to show that the watch is locked instead of this annoying icon
(I wouldn't mind having nothing at all to indicate that the watch is locked but I guess it would be a bad UX).

Does someone @ Garmin listen to those forums ? Any other way to report suggestions ?

There's a suggestion option on the Garmin support page.

Or may be you're telling me that you have suggested Garmin to add a suggestion option there :)

If you press the button one more time the lock goes away

Well guess what. With my older Vivoactive 1 there was no need to lock the device as the touchscreen wasn't going crazy all day or while sleeping in bed. With the 3 if I don't auto lock it it will go through all kinds of menus without me actively touching the screen. Touchscreen sensitivity is definetely too high.

@mirkomen77 thanks I didn't know - it helps a little.

What I would prefer is that the lock icon is not displayed on the first interaction (touch/button) but only starting from the second interaction.

I have just posted about this...i have it come on in activity mode as my sleeves tend to shift the oversensitive touchscreen. I have disabled the side swipe.
But the problem is the big padlock that's stays on obscuring the two data fields in the centre.
How do I get rid of it yet still keep the screen locked?

Hi, This a a real issues. Is there any modification that Garmin Developer did for that ? The lock icon is a lot too big and is shown really too long.... I want to be able to reduce the time to 1 second and the suggestion that on the first interaction, simply do not show the icon is a good idea !!!

Hopefully once the ideas will be implemented (I sent them 10+ while I had the 1st VA, about 7 sincecI have the VA3. I see one is shipped). Fingers crossed, the lock is really annoying. A smaller one or a bit transparent where only the solhouette would be better, I think.

Besides the big lock making she screen unreadable, the backlight turns on too. It drains battery and is rather pointless.

More important : the start/stop physical button is locked too, very unhandy when passing the finishline in a race and struggling to unlock the watch to stop the timer..

I already send suggestion to Garmin and it looks like developer don't see those comments. The lock icon and screen sensibility are things that users want to improve since 2 years... Are they looking at users comments ??

We always lock the watch because screen is too much sensitive. Why they do not add a parameter named : "Double-Tap to activate".To activate the screen Double-Tap. So when double tap, it light the screen and swipe and click is now enable.

But at least, do not show the annoying big lock icon ! Add an option to : Don't show the lock icon or reduce time.
