Always on backlight ?

Is there a way to have the backlight always on, if you look at the watch outside its too dim to see the time so I have to either flick my wrist which I hate or touch the screen which inevitably moves the watch face...it all becomes annoying after a while...I read it was an always on watch (like a real watch).

Yes. Long press the watch face. Go to "settings", then "system", then "backlight". There you can set it to always on, BUT I highly recommend against this because it's going to drain you battery extremely fast. You'd be better off going to "settings" and then "watchface" and changing it to one with a white background with black watch hands.
  • I've read the various posts about backlight during activity, and possible bugs, etc that people hope/expect Garmin to fix at some point, but I have a related question to the one above, and I'm not sure I've this yet addressed anywhere.

On my previous Forerunner 230, I could set the backlight to be ALWAYS ON during an activity. Start up the activity and it's on. I've tried and hunted and read on all the various forums for the VA3, but so far I CANNOT get that to work. Is this an example of what people are hoping Garmin to fix? Or am I just too much of a stupid to be able to get it working on the VA3 - ? I'm fine with either answer (actually hoping I'm just a doofus).

    Thanks all.
  • I am having problems with backlight. It won't keep its setting. I have it set at Short and, 2 nights ago, touching the watch, backlight was turning on for more than 1 minute. I was able to correct the problem by setting it to Normal, then back to Short. Presently, it is still set at Short, but it turns on for a much longer time that it should.
