I have owned my vivoactive 3 for 5 days now and everyday it has locked up at some point to where I had to power down and back up. A few times when doing this I lost all activity for the day and sometimes not. Garmin suggested I needed a new one so I am going to return mine to Best Buy today but my question is whether this is truly a one off occurrence and a new watch will fix or is this a common problem. Wanting to know so I can replace it will something different if that is the case.
Got my VVAfrom Best Buy on 9/16. First 5 weeks and over 200 running miles all was great. Then it started rotating data screens- not optioned and then would freeze. Had to power down. Default, the issues with GPS and wrong info in data screens-FUBAR. Brought back to B.B. They gave me a new one. No hassles. Rest day today, will give it a go tomorrow. Did buy a Vivosport. Pretty neat device. Will run with both tomorrow.2 runs with the VVS -accurate GPS/HR. Wish the screen was a little larger. Couple neat things- the alarm works, can set numerous ones, even snooze. Also, the backlight works when set for activity only and does not light up when not in activity mode. The “buzzer is stronger. Am back using my AW2 for smart watch and the Vivosport for activity, though the Vivosport notifications hit at the same time as the AW. Nick
I've got all the same :-( Deep freeze of Vivoactive 3. I didn't do anything. A reboot of Vivovactive 3 helped me. My main Watchface was frozen for Vivoactive 3.
I tried to vivosport first and liked the design but the OHR was horrible. I couldn't get HR over 99 even when playing full court basketball. I also received 0 active minutes from it after a week of hard exercise. Like that I can hook up a chest strap to the vivoactive 3. I picked up a new one from BB yesterday so we will see if this one is better and has no freezing issues.
I've faced with watchface freezing (ActiFace). After VA3 was turned off and switch on again -all my activities after freeze time were cleared. Widgets sort order was changed, but installled watchfaces, data-fields were located in Vivoactive 3. I didn't catch what's trigger for this situation. Have you faced like this?
also get frozen today. doing an outside bike, no cadence sensor connection, the big green play stays on, when stop and discard the activity the watch got frozen discarding... but they upload the activity to garmin connect... this occurred today five times. something is wrong with this device, the altimeter is also a mess.
I too am experiencing watch freezes when using custom strength workouts. Only had for 4 days but am testing everything out and using to the fullest!
When I pause a strength workout and then resume, sometimes the screen will "hang" and everything just freezes. I can double tap the screen which results in a "vibrate" but no indication of anything on the screen. No pause, stop, go, next set, nothing.. The only way to get it working again is a HARD RESET, holding down the side button for a long time and then powering back on. Then it somehow loads straight back into the screen it was previously frozen on and if I'm careful, I can get it all "resuming" from pause again.. sometimes not and it just re-freezes again.
Very frustrating. Have tried calling support but hold times > 20 minutes just doesn't seem worth it.. appreciate any feedback or I'm skipping this model.
