I?m getting an error message when trying to delete a text message. I just switched to a Samsung Note 8 from an iPhone 7, so going from iMessage to SMS might have something to do with it, just not sure. Sometimes there is no dismiss button for me to delete the notification from the VA3, and other times it shows an error with a red circle when I tap on the message notification. Anyone experience this issue?
I just got done with a support chat and they opened a case regarding this issue. I would suggest that you go have one opened as well (more cases on the same issue should equal faster response time). I have the same issue with dismissing SMS notifications on my VA3 and my Note 8. it's an ongoing issue between the GCM app and Android 7.1, and the case has been open for weeks at this point. the specific problem is related to permissions.
Nighthawk, what they did is add your name to the already open case so that you will be notified when they correct the issue and if they need any further information. that said, it will be fixed with the next GCM update according to my friend in engineering.
Dylan, Likely, you are right. They did request the Garmin folder off my watch. Anyway, I figure the more people who complain about the same issue, the faster it gets fixed.
I am having the same issue with my Samsung S7 (Android 7.0), where I only have the option to reply to a SMS but not dismiss it. I did not have the issue when I was using my original Vivoactive for dismissing an SMS. Does anyone know why I would have the issue with the VA3, but not the original VA if it is an issue with GCM? When I called to open a ticket they did not have an answer for me.
Unfortunately, this is a common issue. There are a couple of threads here about this. It seems to happen on a few combinations of phone/os. I thought maybe it would be fixed on the 2.60 firmware, but no such luck.
