Have had my watch since 9/16. Has never worked for me. Biggest PIA is when set for activity only, the damn light comes on while moving while changing positions while in the sack over night. Wife ?loves?that. The plus, convinced the wife that if I ordered the Motiv ring no light is activated when you move. Expect delivery Monday. Thanks Garmin :)
My wife was complaining that my watch lights up when I move around in bed ... so I set the backlight to only activate on gesture during activity, but it still activates when I move.
I'm not worried about the battery so much ... just my relationships :)
I have sleep time set and yet the backlight still activates.
I assume you have turned off the sidescroll sensor (or are locking the watch if you have it enabled), otherwise it will definitely light up continuously...
On 2.60 and I have this issue too. I currently have the backlinght disabled. Another bug I found is that with backlight completely disabled, I go to the quick controls and increase the brightness by 10 percent, the backlight settings get reset and are enabled again. I'm not a fan of the backlight. So far there's no way of turning on the backlight only when needed? Like in the first vivoactive.
The backlight coming on when it's disabled may be a bug. Disabling the backlight and adjusting the brightness level is suppose to enable the backlight again. It's the same as if you put your phone on do not disturb (vibration only) and then adjust the volume level. It takes it out of do not disturb mode and set it to whatever volume you adjusted.
on mine this happens only if i use a 3rd party watch face...where a gesture will turn on the backlight in watch mode when its not meant to. on the default garmin ones, the backlight works as set... only coming on during activities.
