No Call notifications

So I am getting SMS, email, text and other notifications within seconds of the notification on the phone. But I am not getting call notifications. I have Incoming Calls marked active in the settings. But I get nothing. This is on Android - anyone else experience this?

RESOLVED - SEE POST BELOW
  • Same here. I double checked to ensure I had it marked active and do, but no call notifications.

    no issues on my Note 8 running 7.1.1; likely a permissions issue regardless if it is user based or app error.

    I'd uninstall and reinstall the app and then re-pair personally...

    UPDATE:
    I rebooted my phone last night (nothing related to the VA3) and after it restarted I got a permissions request from Garmin connect to allow access to phone calls. I remember when I first got the watch the permission requests for messages, etc came serially over time. I guess this one just got hung up. Lcstatema - I suggest you reboot your phone.

    Thank you! A re-boot solved it on mine too just as you described. I guess it forgets to ask for the phone permission when it is first set up. Mine is a Fenix 5x working on android V7.0, Samsung Galaxy S7. Yes my sports watch costs 4x what my phone did on ebay.

    Not working for me - I am not getting any smart notifications at all. It used to work earlier but not since the last two months. I rebooted, restored to default, unpaired paired again, gave permissions........ no use. Any suggestions?
