Significant battery drain after 2.50 update

I updated my VA3 to version 2.50 yesterday and now the battery is draining significantly faster than before.

With version 2.40 after 24 hours the battery would be at around 87%.

Now, after updating to 2.50, the battery is at 75% after 12 hours.

Anyone else experiencing this also?

I've submitted a ticket to Garmin ... but I really don't have high hopes of getting a response. The past two tickets I submitted were pretty much ignored.

<sigh/>

• I always do a power down/power up cycle after a FW install because I've had some odd things happen that would be resolved by that. Once on my 235 I was actually faster than normal battery drain that was the problem. I just finished this process since it took until just now to get the OTA update.
• This is interesting ... Garmin Connect Web shows this for my VA3:
• Software is up to date ? Version 2.40.0.0
• This is happening to me also, although faster than the original poster. I charged up fully this morning after getting the update, then noticed it was falling fast was down to in the 50's by the time I reached work. I charged up to 100 again at work, by the evening around 6 it was back down to 75, so I'm charging up again. Only extras I have is one watchface Simple HR and one hiking app Hike2 .
• And Garmin Connect Web says the same as fallingrock for me, it says my VA 3 is at 2.40
• As R_Tellis said, do a power cycle. I usually do a full power off and back on when something odd happens. Hold the button until the watch turns itself off (~15 seconds), and then turn it back on.

with 2.50, I've dropped a few percent over about 6 hours (I charged it to 100% at that point)
• Ok, good advice, I'll follow that and see. Thanks.
• I'll try cycling power also (oops, more than one meaning there).
• my VA3 had power problems wen i first got it. it calmed down after a few reboots

It's strange how everyone has an update affect them differently. FW2.40 would drain my battery from 100% to 75% in a 24hr period. After FW2.50, I went from 100% to 91% in the same time period with no changes in my settings. FW2.50 was also suppose to "fix" issues with the Bluetooth connection. Well, I never had problems connecting to Bluetooth with 2.40, but 2.50 is a nightmare for me. You'd think everyone would be on the same sheet of music, but I saw the same thing happen time and time again every time there was an update to my FR235.

I have the same problem. I updated to 2.50 yesterday morning at 9am (I'm in a different time zone). When I woke up this morning the battery was completely empty.
Somewhere during the night it switched off. I thought it had something to do with gps running in the background.
The first thing I did yesterday after the update was testing a navigation app (battery started at 97%).
I noticed during the day that battery percentages dropped quick.
I had a very active day yesterday (did a lot of classes at Les Mills Live Amsterdam), using an external Garmin heartrate sensor, receiving a lot of notifications, synchronising the activities during the day.
I hope the restart of the watch solves the problem and battery life will be back to 4/5 days (active use)
