3 times in two weeks my VA3 has frozen. The backlight comes on, while the screen shows the watch face, it is totally unresponsive if I don't catch it the battery rapidly drains until the watch is dead. I have to hold the button down until it reboots, then it comes up with the incorrect time until I sync it with my phone, then everything is fine.I called support today, and they gave me the option of taking it back to BB or sending it back to them for a replacement. Personally, I think it is a firmware issue and will see what happens in the next couple of week.
If Best Buy isn't too far away from you, I would definitely take it back and exchange it for another. I don't have that issue and haven't heard from anyone that does, so I'm not sure about it being a firmware issue. I just wouldn't take a chance and go ahead and take it back while you can.
I had exactly the same issue. When it happened, the battery was low, <10%. After charging, the time was wrong and I had to sync with phone a few times to get the watch back to normal.
Well I took it into BB today and even though I was over the 15-day return policy, they were kind enough to exchange it for me. Loaded the No Frills watch face and have my fingers crossed.
Well, that didn't work, the new one locked up again last night. Noticed the time was an hour off, then couldn't access any screens until I rebooted and re-synced it. Removed beta connect from my VA3 and re-installed the production version, will keep putzing around until I figure out what is causing this.
