This type of display looks brighter in bright ambient light (such as being in the sunlight, or under lights while taking pictures or videos.). You're selections for colors can help in lower light conditions.
Pictures were taken in the garden with a cloudy sky, first picture without the backlight on the second with it on, ok... if it looks normal i'm happy :D:D
They colors look normal to me, and I find the display nicer than the vahr in fact (higher res). Some people expect it to be like a cell phone, but this tech is why the display is always on and the batter can last a number of days.
The colors on mine are pretty muted. As others say, they look better with more light reflecting off them. Choosing yellow over say, red or purple, can help with readability.
Yep I had the same concern about muted colours. Mine is also weird in that if you look at it directly on, its much harder to see than if you look for a slight angle. I am wondering whether mine is adjusting properly to ambient light.
The brighter the light, the better the screen looks. Unlike a cell phone you can see it in bright sunlight. And unlike other watches, the display is on all the time and it can go days without charging. As others have said, you might want to try different colors based on your lighting conditions.
