Garmin Vivoactive 3 hands on review - well for 2 hours

I had the chance last night to get hands on with the Garmin Vivoactive 3 and get questions answered by the Garmin product manager and I thought I would post my thoughts here

You can read the full review here https://www.activejr.com/garmin-vivo...nds-on-review/

But in the spirit of contributing to this forum I will post a highlight of my thoughts below, if you choose to goto the link that is up to you, but appreciated of course

Design and build

Solid design
Very light
Certainly not a patch on the Fenix 5 series, but still very high end

Screen

Very response when using the touch screen
Using with moist hands it works really well
Bright rich colours that pop

UI, Menu and interaction

Very well thought out UI and menus
New animations when saving or changing settings
The side swipe feature works really well even when wet
I would love to see the side swipe come to other wearables in the future.

Fitness features

15 preloaded profiles
No TRI mode or Open water swimming
You can add custom activity profiles
No training load or status like on the Fenix 5
All day stress tracking can only be viewed on the GCM app, not a deal breaker though

Sensor support

Does not support Power meters or running dynamics sensors
Does support these
Heart rate monitors
Foot pod
Tempe
Speed/Cadence sensors
Virb
Easy to pair as you would expect from Garmin

Garmin Pay

Works the same was as Apple Pay
US only at launch, UK, Europe and the rest of the world is going to have to wait

Price warning

Amazon in the UK have it listed at ?259.99 at the moment, links at my website. Grab a bargain before they change it

Summary

Its a great mid range fitness watch, with great build quality and well thought out interface and features. People that are worried that have a Fenix 5 series have no need to be worried as its lacking some of the key features. If you have been looking at the Fenix 5 and already decided its to much of a watch for you then the Garmin Vivoactive 3 is a great choice ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1249323.jpg ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1249324.jpg ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1249325.jpg ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1249326.jpg
