Change treadmill run to gps

'I've got a 20k run to do as part of a half marathon training plan and want to do the first half on a treadmill then run outdoors.Can you change a treadmill run to an outdoor gps run part way through ?

Garmin multisport watches can do this with the "change sport hot key." Unfortunately, not an option on the Venu watches.
